Description
Dinitrophenol is a nitro derivative of phenol, under normal conditions a yellow crystalline solid with a sweet smell reminiscent of mold. It sublimates, volatilizes with water vapor, dissolves in most organic solvents, as well as in aqueous-alkaline solutions. DNF is biochemically active.
